May 22 Update

As of noon today, 434 South Orange residents have received access to COVID-19 testing, and of that number, 95 tests have returned positive and 339 have returned negative. To date, four members of our community have passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Please continue to keep their families in your prayers.

Essex County Opens Satellite Testing Sites

Essex County is expanding its COVID-19 testing to include satellite testing sites throughout the County in addition to continuing to operate its drive through testing center in Weequahic Park. The satellite sites will offer saliva tests and will begin on Thursday, May 21st.

Municipal Offices are closed to the public but our staff will remain available through phone, email and our website SouthOrange.org. While we are limiting in-person interactions with staff, they are prepared and eager to continue serving residents in a safe way.

The Village’s Emergency Alert Notification System allows residents to receive timely communications including phone calls (cell, home, business), text messages, and emails.

In addition, residents have the option to subscribe to non-emergency notifications relating to various Village services and issues, including parking issues, recreation sports, classes and activities, and weather alerts.
